Don't let the pigeon stay up late

 Walt: we are learning to write an opinion.

 For the last few weeks we have been reading these stories called -

Don't let the pigeon drive the bus.

Don't let the pigeon stay up late.

The pigeon needs a bath.

The pigeon wants a walrus.

We did an opinion plan we had to put detail into the plan

after we just writ the opinion story.

Please give me some feedback that would be great.

Don’t let the pigeon stay up late

I think the pigeon should not stay up late!

I don’t think it’s a good idea because the pigeon might be grumpy and angry because he did not get his 10 hours sleep.

I don’t think the pigeon should stay up late because the pigeon might have a busy day tomorrow like running swimming or a flying race the next day.

I don’t think he should go to bed because if he sleeps he might get a treat tomorrow in the morning and it might be yummy.

 

Alarm call

Hey little kitten. There was once a monster who came into town all he wanted to do was to see a kitten and to pat the kitten. So he went to see a kitten but every house he went into there was no kitten so he kept  on looking in each house but he had no luck so he left for a few days and gone back home. He came back a few days later he kept on looking but it was hopeless the monster gave up so he went home again.

The next time he went he saw a kitten wandering round the streets the kitten was as fluffy as a cloud and as white as snow and of course he followed the kitten. He followed the kitten everywhere the kitten went the monster followed and followed and followed until the kitten got into a house the monster had to find a way into the house the door was small so the monster had to SQUEEZE through the door but the monster had to get out and find another way but there was a way he had to squeeze again then he got in.

He pet the kitten he even slept next to the kitten the kitten woke up and started cuddling the kitten and the kitten was cuddling him until….. The owner came in he tried to hide but the owner kicked him out of the house the next day the owner went shopping and the giant went in and cuddled the kitten again then he went home and he was happy.

Hurricanes can be all found over the world. Hurricanes are severe weather systems. Severe means really REALLY HORRIBLE!!! Hurricanes are sometimes the most violent storms on earth.

Hurricanes are huge storms. They can get up to 600 miles across the land. They have strong wind spirals and sometimes hurricanes can live over a week. Hurricanes bring lots of clouds, rain and wind. They can make lots of floods. Hurricanes turn clockwise which in north hemisphere and anticlockwise direction in the southern hemisphere. The center of the hurricane that’s the eye. The eye is dead silent you can not hear a thing. In new zealand they call it cyclones. In australia they call them hurricanes. Hurricanes only form by the ocean having really warm salty water. The air cools of the higher you go. The wind must be blowing in the same direction at  the same speed to force air upward to the ocean surface. Winds flow outwards above the storm allowing the air from the bottom to rise.

Hurricanes form between 5 to 15 degrees latitude north and south equator.

Storm surges are frequently the most devastating element of a hurricane.  A hurricane will cause more of a storm surge in areas. The amount of water is dangerous it can flood houses and all kinds of stuff. The water can go into people’s houses you would not want that to happen you would have to clean it all up.

For me I would not like to be in a hurricane but luckily we don’t have them here sometimes we only have little hurricanes known as cyclones. I don’t think anyone would want to be in a hurricane with all the rain and wind and

Brrrr is anyone cold around here?

Antarctica is the windiest, driest, desert in the whole world but … it’s not an ordinary desert, it is a snow desert. That's just amazing!!

Looks

Antarctica looks like it has snow and ice and really really tall maintains you can see some icebergs that are HUMONGOUS

Feels

Feels SUPER COLD, feels like frost bite it can be super cold over there

Sounds

Sounds SUPER windy and it sounds like someone is whistling

The temperature can go down to -75C. Underneath the snow and ice there is plain old land .There is lots of ice in Antarctica, that whats makes it ICY COLD. Antarctica also had lots of HUGE ICEBERGS. Did you know if you drop an ice cube in water you can see that it floats up on the water and there's still some under the water - that’s the same as an iceberg. All icebergs have a top that is big but the bottom that is under water is HUGE!

Antarctica is the coldest continent. In the winter the temperature is -89.6C that’s only in the winter. In summer the coldest that it drops  to is -15C. The temperature sits below -0C (-32F)most of the time.

Antarctica is really interesting, Amazing, It’s a snowflake wonderland in Antarctica. Antarctica is really fascinating.

I like Antarctica there lot to discover like mystery. You can find out lots of things.

In literacy we have been learning about Antarctica the first thing we did was to go to the Antarctica center to have some fun and learn about Antarctica we went in the snow and ice room my piece of writing has a Introduction, Characteristics and lucky last the Evaluation
