DEFINITION: ACIDIFICATION IS WHEN THE ACTION OR PROCESS OF MAKING OR BECOMING ACIDIC

What is happening to the oceans?

• carbon is absorbing into the ocean
• animals are dying

What does this do to shellfish?

• if carbon keeps on going into the ocean and animals are dying they won't be able to make more shells.
