Tane Mahuta

Tane Mahuta is when we go around the school and look at what we can do to this school to get native birds back to hornby high we get to pick up rubbish and get the school clean it is fun because you get to explore around the school and be at places you have never seen before when I went we got to pick plums of a plum tree and I ate about 12 they where so good i could not help it, some other year 7 and 8 students came along it was amazing.

Continuous Cricket

Continuous Cricket Rules

Object

By hitting the ball and your team has to get more runs then the other team.

Players

You have to split the people who are playing into half and half.

Equipment

  • 2 bats
  • 2 balls
  • 1 full wicket set with 3 wickets
  • 2 spare wickets
  • 1 wicket stand

Scoring

One person has to count how many runs each team gets.

Winning

You have to throw the ball and the other person hits it and then when they do the runs you quickly get the ball back and you try to throw the ball at the wickets before the person gets back from running.

Rules

  • You have to run one way.
  • When you throw the ball you have to do under arm.
  • You must run if you don’t hit the ball.
  • You have to switch the bat person and the bowler you have to change each round.
  • You have to have a wicket keeper.
  • The bating person has to be 2-3 meters away.  
  • teams has to be half and half .
  • You have to get the ball as quickly as possible and pass it to the bowler.
