 What is meant by the term Kristallnacht?

When did this event occur?

November 9th and 10th, 1938

 

How many synagogues did the program burn?

267 synagogues

 

How many jews died during this event?

91 jews murdered

 

How many were sent to concentration camps?

30,000

 

What was the reaction of the germans when this happened?

They blamed the jews.

 

 

The night of the Kristallnacht was planned before it actually happened, some proof of this is that it was sent on the 8th of November 1938, at 1.20 in the morning. In the document it said what the Jewish could do and couldn't do, some examples of this are “businesses and residences of jews may be damaged but not looted” and “officials are to arrest as many Jews as possible, especially the wealthy ones.”
