Hurumanu - Things that Fly

FLIGHT

Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

  • In your groups of 3 you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behaviour.
  • In groups of 3 you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.
Image result for flight forces

Definition:
the action or process of fliwq

4 forces of flight:

  1.   Gravity
  2.    Thrust
  3.   Drag
  4.   Lift

Paper Plane:

Material:

1. Paper
2. paper clip
3. ruler
Steps:

1. get paper
2. fold it
3. fly it

Findings:

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
1 meter

Ailerons
2 meters

Paper clip

2.3 meters

Conclusion:
in todays lesson we learned how to make a paper plane and fly it we added aerodynamics to the plane the first flight was normal with 1 meter and then the second was 2 meters and the third was 2.3 meters.
